HEADS UP, COMMUTERS: YOU CAN NOW HOP ON AN ELECTRIC BUS FROM MAKATI TO MCKINLEY HILL

(SPOT.ph) Commuters in the the urban areas of Makati City and Taguig City now have a new option to go back and forth the two hubs: a new bus route with vehicles that are more eco-friendly than the rest.

Hop on an electric bus from San Lorenzo Place Mall to McKinley Hill and vice versa thanks to a new commuter route. The buses will operate on an hourly schedule from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays to accommodate the morning and evening rush hours. On weekends, the buses will continue with hourly trips from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The best part? Rides are free from June 5 to 17.

Paying cash is a thing of the past with the relatively new COMET electric buses. Instead, in-app membership tokens will be used to pay for the rides from June 17 onwards. Commuters can easily top up through GCash or Shopee.

To get a "bus ticket," commuters will have to download the GETPASS app. Create an account then log in to join the "Citylink" organization from the list. From there, a QR code will be generated, which will be scanned when getting on and off the electric bus.

San Lorenzo Place Mall is at EDSA corner Chino Roces Avenue in Makati City, while McKinley Hill is at Florence Way Street in Taguig City. Check out the bus routes below.
